Club York
Keeping the Choir Singing!
Founded in 1913, thousands of Sydneysiders have been members of the Sydney Male Choir. A registered charity, the Sydney Male Choir often holds concerts to raise money for various charities, and over the years has performed on various platforms including ABC radio, television and at the Martin Place ANZAC Day Dawn Service. Club York's relationship with the Sydney Male Choir commenced a few years ago when the choir ran out of options for a rehearsal space during the pandemic. Club York was the only venue that came to the rescue, offering the group a space to continue their rehearsals following the restrictions that were implemented. Recognising the importance of the group for the social and mental health support of the 60 passionate group members, the Club has continued to support the choir, providing the rehearsal space free of charge and financial assistance to fund the choir's pianist and various running costs.
